The Houston Wedding Showcase is always a lot of fun, and this year’s show during the first week of March was no exception. This semi-annual event features a wide selection of wedding products and services – including, of course, fabulous cakes! This was the third visit to the show for Dream Cakes, and it’s beginning to feel like home. Dream Cakes was fortunate to have both an exhibit in the gallery area and a tasting booth in the main hall.

Every trade show is different, and we enjoy taking part in each one. One of the unique aspects of the Houston Wedding Showcase is a limited number of exhibitors, which gives visitors easy access to each exhibitor and time to ask questions. Even though the event is held in Houston’s vast George R. Brown Convention Center, the showcase planners manage to maintain a relaxed atmosphere. We had a wonderful time visiting with the attendees and finding out what each of them had planned for their special day. Several hundred people came by the Dream Cakes booth and sampled our red velvet cake with vanilla filling, vanilla cakes with vanilla or dulce de leche filling, and chocolate cake with tiramisu filling. All the samples received praise, and our dulce de leche flavor emerged as the most popular.
The autumn Houston Wedding Showcase is scheduled for August 25 this year, and Dream Cakes plans to be there! Look us up when you come, but remember you don’t need to wait until the next showcase. Just contact us any time to schedule your own tasting appointment or to ask us questions.
